I took piano lessons when I was younger only to have my instructor tell me that I had absolutely no musical talent and that the lessons were a complete waste of money. Later, I became interested in guitar only to get a guitar and have it sit around collecting dust for YEARS because I had no idea what to do with it. When I finally started learning how to play I had to force myself to learn from the boring music books where the first 10 pages tell you how to hold your guitar, and the most exciting song in there was “Skip To My Lou”. After YEARS of additional lessons and thousands of dollars, I finally started making progress and understanding the guitar. As an instructor, my goal is to help students bypass the same struggles I faced and get to the point where playing becomes fun and rewarding, not a struggle.
