About Your Host
Taylor is a guitar-obsessed lifelong student of music as well as a dedicated teacher. He spends just about every waking hour of his average day with a guitar in his hand working to help students overcome the same struggles he had when he got started. Despite what you might think, Taylor did not have good start to his musical journey.
"My parents enrolled me in piano lessons through my school at a pretty young age. I had no idea what I was doing and my teacher wasn’t much help. He was a grumpy old man who had no patience for beginners or young kids. He finally told my parents I had absolutely no musical talent and that they were wasting their money. Bummer. Years later I became interested in the guitar after seeing a close friend play a few songs that I loved. I asked my parents for a guitar that Christmas only to have my brand new guitar sit around the house collecting dust for an entire year. Finally, I got set up with an instructor who motivated me and helped me truly fall in love with the guitar. The rest, as they say, is history."
Today Taylor has personally taught over 10,000 private lessons and helps thousands of students from all over the world succeed at learning guitar with his Muscle Memory based learning system, Taylor's approach is to ensure that his students master the core techniques or "Building Blocks" as he calls them, of playing guitar so that students understand the instrument and have the skill set necessary to learn virtually any song.
